About us

Albert Duckstein

Two Little Ducks was founded in 2002 by Jules May and Samantha Unwin. We are both in the inventions business, and have over forty years experience in marketing innovation between us.

Can I ask you a question: Why aren't you rich?

We have found that British inventors are a very valuable breed. Frankly, you're great at inventing things! Only trouble is, you're not so good at doing anything with your ideas. The result of this is that:

The problem is, there's no such thing as an inventors' school, there's no reasonable training and no career path. It's not enough to have a great idea: inventors are expected to appear, as if by magic, commercially-aware and fully-developed expert engineers, before their idea is even prototyped!

That's a silly state of affairs, and we've decided to do something about it! We're successful inventors, we run a technology consultancy and we have commercialised many inventions on our own and our customers' accounts. We know how much fun it is to be inventors - and how lucrative! We want to give a helping hand to everyone else who wants to join us in this great business. It's our way of giving something back.

Helping you to help yourself

So, Two Little Ducks will be doing all it can to promote the cause of British invention.

A one-stop shop.

We aim to be nothing less than a one-stop shop for all things inventory. We won't duplicate the services that already exist, but we will tell you how to spot the crooks (there are plenty of crooks!), and we'll help you to get the best value for your money when you use the honest businesses. We'll be with you from the moment your idea is born, to helping you count the cash as it sells worldwide.

You're welcome to come and visit us. Why not stay here?

Please Remember:

If you're going to contact us, and you already have an idea for an invention, don't tell anybody, and don't tell us either. We're happy to discuss your invention, but we want to do so only when we both can be protected. First, check out our advice pages., Tthen just let us know that you've got an invention to discuss, and we'll let you know what to do.

Don't give away your ideas.

Why "Two Little Ducks"?

Do you know the story about how Apple Computer got its name? Apparrently, they had designed their computer, the parts had been ordered and all they needed was a name to put on the outside of the box. They had been arguing over the name for months, and now, today, they absolutely needed to decide. In frustration Steve Jobs said "If we don't pick a name today, I'm going to name the company after my dinner!"

As we were putting our company together, we faced a similar problem. We knew we needed a name, but we had very little idea what we wanted. Oh, we had loads of ideas about what we didn't want (we wanted to put as much distance between us and the scamsters as we possibly could), but when all you're thinking about is what you don't want, there's not much thought left over for what you do want.

The miserable weather wasn't helping! It had been raining solidly for two months, and we were stuck in the office, keeping our heads down like two little ducks.

Ping! We both looked at each other. It sounded right, when we started drawing the cartoons they looked right. Even though it started just as a joke, like all the best jokes it became true. What other name could we have chosen?

So now you know!
