The Inventor's Kick-start guide

How to get your idea off the starting blocks and into the race

It happens to all of us. The "Aha!" moment, when you feel the whole world tip a little, and you realize, suddenly, that a great idea has just landed on top of you. Then, there's the dawning realisation of just how big this idea could be, and how much money it could make. We've all had it. It's called "inspiration".

..it put a smile on my face and kept it there ... I've learned more reading this than [I have] all day (and I'm in school!)

Aleyandre Keating

Tell me something: If you bought a lottery ticket, and your numbers came up, would you cash it in? Of course you would! Can you imagine anyone with a winning ticket saying "Oh, no - I only bought it for fun. I don't want all the problems of millionairedom." No, I can't imagine it either!

And yet, every day, people with great ideas do exactly that! That little voice says to them "You don't even know where to start." and "Everybody's going to rip you off!", and "How much is this going to cost you?" They shuffle in their chairs and hope the idea goes away and finds someone else to land on.

Your idea has just pointed right at you and said "It's you!" Why would you not want to take the prize?

I've got news for you! It could be worth a fortune. You can do it. It doesn't take loads of money. You don't need to be ripped off. Every day, all over the world people just like you take the bull by the horns, they get involved in their idea, they turn it into an invention, and into a product, and they get incredibly rich. It happens every day. And it could happen to you.

Chances are, the biggest thing standing between you and your fortune is not money, not time pressures, not the risk of being ripped-off , nor even the thought of the problems of success. Chances are, the biggest problem you have is: you don't yet know how.

Relax. You've found us

For years we've been working with inventions and innovations. We've developed our own inventions into commercial success, we've guided other people to their success, and we've steered whole companies in developing their innovations into profitability and success. I can tell you, after all those years of experience, that there's a formula - a simple step-by-step recipe - for getting ideas out of your head (where they prod and pester you) and out into the real world (where they can make you rich). It doesn't need to be risky, it certainly doesn't need to be expensive, and you don't even need to give up the day job.

Excellent work. This is really good stuff you provide.

That's the good news. But here's some even better news: I'm going to tell you exactly how to do it.

Step 1.

Protect your idea. Make sure you don't give your property away before it has even sprouted! If you haven't done so already, check out the advice in our Survival Guide.

Step 2.

Before you talk to anybody about anything to do with your idea, make sure they're honest. We've got a list of known conmen on our Scamsters page.

The Inventor's Kick-start guideStep 3.

Follow our formula. We've written a book, called The Inventor's Kick-start Guide, which takes you, step-by-step, through all the things you need to do to turn your idea into the Next Big Thing.

Over thirteen chapters, it shows you
